Yael Nachum had been home for a while now, taking the time to shower, and change out of his work clothes, and into graphic teeshirt, and a pair of blue, skinny jeans. He had ordered some pizza for supper, the box being on his kitchen counter. He sat down on his couch, with two slices of the pizza on a paper plate, blue eyes staring at the screen, in which science fiction shows played.
Airalina Seerhart had been looking all over town for about 2 hours now. Earlier that day, around noon, Fabian had dissappeared suddenly. Usually he could be found at the library, or going to the coffee shop, even then, he wouldn't have left for a long time without a call to them, or his family telling them what he was up to. Because Aira hadn't received anything, it made her worried. The moon had risen, the stars were dim, and the sudden weather was still pretty bad, drizzling rain outside. Today she was dressed in black high heels, wide, bell bottom dark denim jeans, a gray collared shirt, a red vest, and a black jacket over it. She was in her disguise of black hair, and green eyes, umbrella held in leather gloved hand as she walked to the apartment building and stopped in the alley. There she looked around for about 15 minutes, finding very valuable evidence she placed in her pocket and went upstairs to Yael's apartment, knockin gon the door briefly.
Yael Nachum heard the knock on the door, placing the plate of pizza onto the coffee table, and getting to his feet. He moved to the door, hand turning the knob, and opening the door. Wide, blue eyes stared at the woman, feeling somewhat aghast, as he stammered, "M-M-Ms. Seerhart, is there something wrong?" Yael worried that maybe they found out about his little meeting with Fabian, Seerhart was there to tell him that he was exspelled.
Airalina Seerhart's expression stayed blank for a moment until Yael opened the door. For a while now, Sebastian had been missing from the house, and he was the other intelligent life form, organic or living, that she spoke to about her worries, now that he was gone, she had much on her mind, especially Fabian's case. Already he had been to the hospital because Demarco attacked him... now this? When Yael opened the door, her brows furrowed, her expression fell, and she looked... sad. From within her jacket, she pulled out the newspaper. On the cover were the bounties for Fabian and Yael. "Fabian's missing, and I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it." If Yael took the paper, she would fold her umbrella and set it by the door, taking out his cellphone and glasses. The glasses were fine, but the phone had been shattered, and cracked, like someone stepped on it. "Whoever did it doesn't want us finding him. All I know is, he's missing, and he wasn't taken willingly. Do you know anything about it?"
Yael Nachum didn't like this at all. Seerhart showing up, all sad. Whenever he was in her class, she had always been stoic, seeming not to care much. But seeing this sidde of his teacher, felt strange. "Uh, come in," he sad gesturing her inside, "sorry about the mess." His apratment seemed spotless, having various items slightly off, but all in all, his meager belong had some organization to them. He closed the door when she had entered, as he listened to the teacher ask about Fabian, taking the newspaper, and reviewing the article, that was like the one he had shown to Fabian, weeks beforehand. "No, I haven't seen him since..." he said, pausing for a moment, "...a couple of days ago. I saw him, he seemed down, so I offered him a cup of tea. He and I talked, and hung out for a while, until the storm, and he said he needed to go...." he finished the story with a gulp.
Airalina Seerhart's hands went up to rub between her eyebrows. Despite being so young, she looked about 10 to 12 years older at the moment. For the past few days she had been searching up and down for Fabian. There hadn't been much about him. His disappearance would make a huge media fiesta if they found out, his parents were heart broken, his sister scared that he may be undergoing horrible torture. Again and again she had been told that if Fabian had his phone on him, his family would be glad to give her the tracker. But the proof that it wasn't on him was in her hands. Then, she was also told that Fabian couldn't undergo fear... it was something he was really weak against. "Thank you." She rubbed her face, and shook her head. "A few days ago? So-- he was kidnapped--" She remembered the marking on the wall. "That means he was kidnapped after he saw you! Yael, do you remember seeing anyone tailing him or anything?" She jumped at the chance and grabbed his arms tightly in her grip, shaking him slight
Airalina Seerhart: [slightly* ]
Yael Nachum thought back real long and hard, trying to remember anyone he saw, through the window, that seemed odd. He was rather focused on what had happened. But, wasn't there a figure in the alleyway! Yael stepped over to the window, looking down into the street, scanning it, as he struggled to remember the details. "There was someone...right....there..." finger was pointed to the alleyway that he remembered the figure being, "I didn't think anything of him at the time..."
Airalina Seerhart held Yael there in her grasp, her fingernails turned white because she was getting desperate. Fabian's family was in a disarray, friends, and other family members were realizing that they were acting strange, co-workers often asked what was wrong. No one knew Fabian was a mutant, no one knew he still went to Breton's everyone thought he went to a high class magnet boarding school. The more desperate they got, the more scared Aira felt that it would slip. Large companies like her family and his had to keep these things secret or it could all go under in their turn of power. "A figure? Do you remember what he looked like? Have you seen him before? What was it that was so striking about him that made you notice him? Yael-- Everything you know, tell me. I want every single detail about that day, or else we could never find him- and I fear the worst. Whoever took him has had enough time already, don't give them anymore."
Yael Nachum tried to focus as hard as he could, closing his eyes, as the woman badgered him for answers. His eyes turned white, as rthe sky darked once more. Rain started to fall, as thunder boomed, and lightning flashed across the sky. He opened his eyes, staring at that spot. With another flash of lightning, he muttered, "Petro..."
Airalina Seerhart stood there, silent as possible, green eyes searching Yael's face for any clues. She realized he remembered something once the storm raged from his anger. Aira looked around her and out the window at the rain falling down, before returning her gaze to him. "Petro? Who's Petro? Yael, what are you talking about? What do you know?"
Yael Nachum had actually called the storm, in order to help it look like the the night he was with Fabian, to help him help who it was, that was there. "Petro was Demarco's lackey, he was probably pissed when you killed Demarco, but that doesn't explain why he went after Fabian. He should have been gunning for you, Ms. Seerhart, cause he was almost in love with Demarco. So, it couldn't have been Petro...." Yael thumped his forehead to the glass, as he clenched his eyes shut trying to remember. Fabian was counting on it!
Airalina Seerhart still held Yael tight in her grasp. Sooner, her sore fingers loosened and she let go of his arms as he spoke. Petro? Aira made a mental note to watch her back as well after hearing what Yael said. "I don't think it was, Yael... We don't have a student by the name of Petro in our school." She didn't put together that about a day or two after Fabian was taken, one of the older students, Vincent Damicitus had a letter mailed to her from some Roman address stating he was staying with family... She didn't know the back story, so this was of no use to her. "Don't do that, Yael." She went over, and pat him on the shoulder, head hung, eyes blank. She was running out of ideas.... Perhaps Mr. Breton would lend her his two grandkids, Leon and Maxwell to figure this out.
Yael Nachum's forehead felt cool against the cold glass. He opened his eyes, the white turningback to blue, as the rain, thunder, and lightning stopped, when Yael felt the hand on his shoulder. Head was turned toward the teacher, as he said, "If I think of anything, I'll go straight to you."
Airalina Seerhart put the phone and the glasses back in her jacket pockets, and folded the newspaper. "Alright... I'm gonna leave this here, just in case this gives you any ideas. If you ever want to see the evidence, feel free to ask me about it, and the crime scene--- well it's right downstairs." There was a sad, worried look in her eyes as she nodded to Yael and turned to leave. "Just because you're in trouble Yael, doesn't mean you're not allowed to be a part of school emergencies like this. Your information, could very well save his life." Aira's eye twitched at the mention of saving his life... she hoped it didn't come to that. Killing one of the students under her protection would cause the almighty teacher to crack.
Yael Nachum was at the couch, as Airalina turned to leave, slumping down on the couch, cradling his head in his hands, as he focused on what he needed to do. "The depression...it was probably them..." he looked up, and added, "that night, everyone felt the building shake, and the next morning, we all were wondering where the bowel-shaped depression came from. I think that...Fabian tried to fight whoever nabbed him...." That was all he could think of. He leaned back on the couch, thinking, thinking. Even when the teacher left, he was thinking. His pizza was left untouched, as he fell asleep.
Airalina Seerhart opened the door, and grabbed her umbrella, turning around and listening to Yael intensely when he spoke. Aira could have figured that much out by herself, or at least considered that there was some sort of fight before Fabian was taken, whether the depression came from him or not. "My question is... why wasn't he strong enough to keep up the fight.... After fighting in the RDR, Demarco, and you-- I would have thought something like this was nearly impossible. I want to know what stopped Fabian from flying away, or putting up a proper shield." Eyes narrowed, and her anger flared. She believed that it was more than likely the attacker that had caused his powers to fail him... it had to be. With that, she closed the door behind her and left.
