Name: Kaya Whitley
Age: 19
Heritage: Swedish and American
Hair Color: Blond
Eye Color: Green
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Occupation: Student, resident gardener
Species: Homosuperior
Skin color: Cream colored with a golden tint/shine to it.
Primary- Mutant Physiology: For one thing, she does not reach past 5” in height. She has basically been shrunken down to a tiny version of a human. Along with that, she has translucent wings which equal her body in mass and size. They can hardly be seen, especially when she’s flying, but when still, a slight rainbow shine about them can be seen.
Fairy Dust: She almost constantly creates and expels a type of dust from her body. Usually, it simply sits atop her skin, giving her the appearance that she is sparkling, since the dust is golden in color. However, the wind from her wings flapping when she’s flying disturbs the dust and causes it to trail behind her. She creates a large amount of this dust when is flying.
This dust is special in that the instant it touches dirt or grass, or a natural material capable of supporting plant life, it sprouts flowers. These flowers take but seconds to fully grow and bloom, and they also die quite soon, unless she verbally commands them to slow down. She has full verbal control over these plants, and can cause them to do a great number of things, such as grow bigger, and things of that sort. She could, presumably, cause the flowers to grow so large they could be used as offensive weapons. However, she’s yet to actually demonstrate this.
Secondary-
Flight: She can fly at a very high speed, up to 100 mph. Her wings flap at a very rapid velocity, and that allows her to accelerate to such a high speed. She can ascend to up to just below a mile. Were she to go any higher, her lungs would collapse because of the lack of oxygen.
Verbal Control of her Flowers- she has full verbal control over her flowers, and can bend them to her will as long as she can put what she’s thinking into words.
Formerly:
Size Alteration- The ability to change her body's size at will. Originally, she stood a full 5 feet, and she had the ability to shrink to fairy size any time she wanted. However, because of an accident during flight, she has lost the ability to regain her size.
Weaknesses:
Small lungs- She has small lungs, so she has to take breaths very frequently, much more frequently than any normal human.
Water- She cannot swim at all. Were she to even go under a foot, the pressure would become so great she would be crushed.
Size- She is very small, and thus bigger things can easily crush her if they can catch her.
Metabolism- Her metabolism works at a very high rate, so she must eat frequently.
History:
Kaya’s father, James Whitley, was an American. He was born and raised in America. Late at night, when he couldn’t sleep, his mother would tell him stories of his grandmother, who had disappeared days after she had been born. It was rumored around her town that she had gone to live in the forest, and later on, it had been said that she was a mutant.
He went on to get great marks in High School, and decided to join the Military. In the military, he quickly ascended the ranks for doing such a splendid job at everything he was tasked to do. He was stationed, soon, to go to Sweden. In Sweden, James met a woman named Celia. Celia was a beautiful, tall, blond and green-eyed woman who quickly stole James’ heart. The two married in Sweden, and had a child who they named Kaya. When Kaya was one year old, they decided to go back to America.
In America, Kaya and her family lived happily for a long while. Kaya, like her father, did well in school. She grew like a weed and her family praised her. All was well until Kaya turned 10. She began to show signs of a degenerative disease of some sort. She was losing bone mass, muscle mass, and over all growing shorter. The doctor’s quickly began to worry about her.
It was estimated that within a few years, Kaya would die. James and Celia grew depressed, but they pampered Kaya. Kaya thought she was going to die, and she very well may have if she hadn’t actually been a mutant, whose body was actually designed to do this. 2 years passed, and Kaya had gone from being 5’ tall to 3’ tall. She was teased in school, and her parents decided to pull her out and homeschool her. So, she learned in the privacy of her own home for a while. Another 3 years passed with little to speak of, and she had shrunk another 2.5 feet. She was now merely 5” tall. By now, the doctors had suspected she’d be dead, but in fact, Kaya was finally beginning to feel good. Something inside her made her feel really good. Amazingly, from her back began to sprout very small, translucent wings. The doctors finally decided that she was in fact a mutant and nothing more.
Then, one day, she simply sprouted back up to her original size of 5'.
A year passed, as her parents began to ease up on their depression, and they finally began to realize that perhaps, they couldn’t offer their daughter just what they needed to. Her wings grew in full, becoming so large that they equaled her body in mass and size.
Her father got stationed in England then, and they moved to London. They lived there for 2 years when yet another oddity surfaced about Kaya. They realized that she had begun to sparkle… Oddly. She had learned to fly fully with her wings, and had discovered that this sparkling substance followed her, trailed behind her when she flew. It was soon discovered that when this Fairy Dust touched soil, or other plant life, flowers of a brand new species grew instantly, and then died almost immediately afterwards.
One day, Kaya was shrunken and flying around in public, and a person mistook her for a fly. They swatted at her, and she hit her head against the wall. Since then, she seems to have lost the ability to grow to her full size.
Another year passed, and Bryton Yorkshire himself approached the couple and offered them the opportunity for their daughter to learn in a safe environment. They pondered this for about a month before finally accepting, and then Kaya was sent to Breton’s, where she currently resides.
Personality: She is shy, and tends to spend most of her time outside, sitting in her flowers and making dresses or something from flower pedals. She likes to explore and she seems to have a natural ability to calm animals, probably developed from the countless hours she would sit outside in her own garden and play with the wild rabbits that would come and investigate. She is very nature-loving.
